1, 2, or 3 Days in Glasgow: The Perfect Itinerary!

How Many Days in Glasgow do You Really Need?

Not sure how much time you need in Glasgow? It can be surprisingly tricky to figure out how long to spend here, especially when you’re fitting Glasgow in during part of a larger Scotland road trip.

If you’re very short on time, you can absolutely see a good bit of Glasgow in a single day. You’ll have to be selective, though, and it’ll be a fairly full day!

If you can swing it, we recommend spending at least 2 days in Glasgow. That gives you enough time to explore the city’s top highlights, the beautiful architecture and neighborhoods, a few museums, the food and drink scene, and a couple of its more unique sights.

To help you decide, here is exactly how we would categorize 1, 2, and 3 days in Glasgow:

• 1 day in Glasgow → A fast-paced, but worthwhile introduction to the city. You can fit in several of the major sights, some of Glasgow’s incredible architecture and museums, and still have time for a good meal and drink. Best for: Travelers squeezing Glasgow into a larger, but fairly short Scotland itinerary or anyone who wants to get a small taste of the city.

• 2 days in Glasgow → A good starting spot for a first visit. You’ll have enough time to explore the major sights, visit a few museums, wander through different parts of the city, and enjoy Glasgow’s food, drink, and nightlife scene without feeling like you’re constantly watching the clock. Best for: Travelers who want to experience as much of Glasgow as possible, while still keeping plenty of time in their Scotland itinerary for other destinations.

• 3+ days in Glasgow → A great dive into the city! With this extra day, you can start to slow down more, explore a few neighborhoods, spend longer in the many museums, hit some lesser-known spots, and leave room for those completely unplanned stops that tend to make city trips extra fun. Best for: Travelers who really enjoy cities, food, architecture, museums, and exploring at a slower pace — or anyone who simply has the time to give Glasgow a little more attention!

1 Day in Glasgow Itinerary (Fast-Paced Highlights)

If you only have one day in Glasgow you can still get a really good taste of the city! You won’t be able to see everything, of course, but we will help you fit in as much as possible without turning your day into one giant race between attractions.

Morning

Start your day in the West End, one of our favorite parts of Glasgow and home to some of the city’s most impressive architecture, green spaces, and museums.

Begin at the University of Glasgow, where you can wander around the historic campus (founded in 1451, it is the fourth-oldest university in the English-speaking world!) and admire its dramatic Gothic architecture. Even if you’re not normally someone who gets excited about university buildings, this one is genuinely worth seeing – trust us!

From here, make your way to the stunning Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, one of Glasgow’s biggest attractions and a great introduction to the city. The museum has an enormous collection covering everything from art to natural history, Scottish history and culture, and so much more!

The best part of Kelvingrove? Admission is free, meaning you can pop in for an hour or two without feeling like you’ve wasted any money if you don’t have time to see the entire museum.

If museums aren’t really your thing, don’t feel obligated to spend half your day inside. However, we do suggest at least having a quick look around and maybe even picking out just one or two exhibits that interest you most before getting back to exploring!

Midday

After Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, take a stroll through Kelvingrove Park toward the river. This is a lovely walk, especially if the weather cooperates.

For lunch, head into the West End for one of Glasgow’s many cafés, pubs, or restaurants. This is a great place to be a little spontaneous — there are plenty of great food options around the University and along Byres Road!

Once you’ve fueled up, we will be making our way towards the City Centre to continue exploring Glasgow’s architecture and history.

Afternoon

Jump from West End to the other side of Glasgow (easily reached by public transport or a ~45m walk), in order to explore Glasgow’s City Centre, starting at George Square if it’s open when you visit (it’s currently undergoing some renovations!) or the surrounding streets if not.

While here, be sure to check around the corner (at the Royal Exchange Square) for the famous and deeply beloved Duke of Wellington statue with the traffic cone on his head (pictured above). If you don’t know of this statue yet, here is a great article detailing the hilariously fun history!

George Square is one of the city’s main landmarks and is surrounded by some seriously impressive buildings, including the Glasgow City Chambers. If the City Chamber’s free guided tours are available when you visit, the inside is just as stunning (if not much more so) as the outside!

If you happen to have a bit of time right now (either from being quick at the museum and park or skipping them entirely!), this would be a great opportunity to slip in a guided city walking tour! Matze and I are big fans of going on a walking tour in every city we visit. Most tours are fairly short, teach you a ton about the city, and provide you with a local who can give great food recommendations for your dinner afterwards 😉

We would suggest either this city walking tour (which we took and loved!) or this art-centered walking tour. Glasgow is known for it’s art, so that is a great choice, but you really can’t go wrong with either!

Regardless of whether you do a walking tour or not, we would suggest to wrap up your day by wandering through the city center towards Glasgow Cathedral and the Glasgow Necropolis before you head to dinner.

The cathedral is one of the city’s most important historic buildings and one of the few medieval churches in Scotland to survive the Reformation largely intact. If you did sneak in a walking tour today, you likely visited it already, but if not, take a peek now!

Just behind the cathedral is the Necropolis which climbs up the hill and offers fascinating Victorian monuments, as well as a wonderful hidden gem photo spot offering amazing views of Glasgow!

Evening

Glasgow has one of the best food and drink scenes in Scotland and it is a bit more lively at night than many other Scottish cities, so finish your day back in the City Centre or West End with dinner, drinks, and a bit of fun!

You can either do another tour like this dinner & drinks walking tour or just pick somewhere that sounds and smells good!

Grab a drink at a pub afterward if that’s your vibe (or take this Pubs & History walking tour), and enjoy your final few hours in Glasgow.

Alternatively, if pubs and drinking aren’t really your vibe, you can spend the evening wandering around some of the city’s street art and nightlife areas or even try a spooky nighttime tour like this Dark History tour or this Ghosts, Ghouls, and Gruesome Tales tour!

And if you’re more interested in Glasgow’s music scene, this is also a great opportunity catch some live music! Glasgow has a huge musical culture, and seeing a local band or heading to a smaller venue can be a very memorable way to end your trip. You can either just walk around the city and stop in wherever tickles your ear or you can search your exact visit date on Google to find a specific event or artist!

And if you’re just plain exhausted? No shame in calling it a night early. You just packed a lot of Glasgow into one day!

2 Days in Glasgow (Architecture, Museums, and More!)

After covering many of Glasgow’s biggest highlights on Day 1, today is all seeing more of Glasgow’s famous architecture, fascinating museums, beloved sights and getting plenty of opportunities to wander around or take a fun tour instead of constantly rushing from one attraction to the next.

Day 01

Follow the 1-day itinerary above to hit all of the top highlights.

Day 02

Morning

Start your second day at The Lighthouse, a former museum dedicated to architecture and design and the first major public commission of Glasgow’s most famous architect, Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

Mackintosh was one of the key figures behind the distinct “Glasgow Style,” alongside a group of other influential creatives that included his wife, Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh. If you’re a history buff or art lover, Charles, Margaret, and their circle are very fascinating people to look into while exploring Glasgow!

As briefly mentioned above, The Lighthouse was previously home to a wonderful museum, complete with an amazing viewing platform overlooking the city, but it is now closed to the public. In November 2025, Scotland leased the building to Sustainable Ventures, a “climate-tech incubator”, meaning the museum is no more and visitors can no longer go inside or access the viewing platform.

It’s incredibly disappointing (and frankly very frustrating) to lose such a unique attraction, especially a museum with such rich history, but the building itself is still beautiful and has a fascinating history regardless of whether you go inside or not. We think it’s worth taking a gander!

From here, take some time to wander through the city center, keeping an eye out for more of Mackintosh’s work (perhaps you even follow the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Trail!) and the many other interesting historic buildings scattered throughout Glasgow.

If you didn’t get a peek on Day 01, you can also visit the Glasgow School of Art, although be aware that access to the school itself is limited, as the building is currently undergoing extensive restoration (currently incomplete and paused due to lack of funds) following two devastating fires in 2014 and 2018. Even without going inside, though, the surrounding area is worth exploring if you’re at all interested in Mackintosh and Glasgow’s artistic history!

For a little break, stop for coffee, tea, or a pastry along the way and be sure to stop for a proper lunch before continuing on to the afternoon section below. On that note, if you smell something delicious while walking, just stop in! Trust us, some of the best discoveries happen while you’re simply wandering around.

Afternoon

Below, we have three distinct branches for you, so be sure to read through this whole section before deciding what calls to you most. Or feel free to continue your explorations from yesterday if you didn’t have enough time!

For the traditional city exploration route, make your way down to the River Clyde where your main stop will be the Riverside Museum, Glasgow’s free transportation museum. Inside you’ll find everything from vintage cars and motorcycles to locomotives, bicycles, trams, and other pieces of transportation history.

It’s a particularly good stop if you’re traveling with kids, but even adults will find plenty to enjoy. The collection is huge and surprisingly varied, so you can easily spend a couple of hours exploring if the topic even remotely interests you. Right outside the museum is also the iconic Tall Ship Glenlee, which you can explore if you’re interested in maritime history as well.

And if museums or transportation aren’t your thing, the Riverside area is still a nice place to walk along the Clyde and take in the views!

However, if your vibe is more sporty and you’re at all a football (AKA soccer) fan, you will likely want to check out the Glasgow Celtic Park, home to Celtic FC!

You can’t enter the stadium without a tour, but they have some great, fairly inexpensive options that allow you to see behind-the-scenes areas and learn about the team lore and fun facts from a local. Here is the best group tour and here is that same group tour plus a 3-course meal overlooking the pitch!

And if we’ve completely missed your vibe and it is neither sports nor museums, then it must be Scotch 😉

If you are indeed a fan of Scottish whisky, then no trip to Glasgow is complete without a Clydeside Distillery tour. Here is the top rated tour of this famous single-malt distillery that also includes a guided whisky tasting where you learn to nose and taste three different Clydeside whiskies!

Evening

For your final evening in Glasgow, head back toward Merchant City, one of the city’s oldest areas and a great place to spend this evening.

Take some time to wander through the streets, perhaps even sneaking in another tour or museum visit before settling in for dinner. Once again, we’d recommend choosing a restaurant based on what sounds and smells good as you are walking around. Be open and spontaneous and you will likely be pleasantly surprised!

After dinner, follow the plan from Day 01, either visiting a pub, a live music venue, or doing one of the evening tours we suggested!

3 Days in Glasgow Itinerary (Slow & Local)

By Day 3, you’ve already seen most of Glasgow’s top highlights and done a few tours, so today is intentionally a little less structured. Instead of trying to cram another handful of attractions into your trip, use this third day to explore the parts of Glasgow that have interested you most and give yourself time to relax into the city.

This is the day to sleep in a little, linger over breakfast, wander through a neighborhood you haven’t explored yet, hit a tour you couldn’t fit previously, spend an extra few hours in another museum or two, or check out another restaurant or pub you’ve been eyeing.

Days 01 & 02

Follow the previous itineraries to cover nearly all of the top sights, viewpoints, and main activities in preparation for Day 03!

Day 03

Morning

If you didn’t get too much time in the West End on Day 01, head back there and explore beyond the University and Kelvingrove. Wander along Byres Road and Ashton Lane (two famous streets with lots to see and do), browse the independent shops and cafés, and take your time exploring the many other fun, surrounding streets.

We would also suggest spending some time at the Glasgow Botanic Gardens, which are free to enter and make for a particularly nice change of pace after two days of city sightseeing. The glasshouses, although small, are especially worth a look if the Scottish weather isn’t cooperating and you need a quick break from being poured on!

Alternatively, if there’s a particular museum you rushed through or skipped on Days 01 or 02, this is your chance to go back and see it more in-depth. Glasgow also has plenty of other museums worth checking out, so you we might suggest visiting a brand new one today!

The Hunterian Museum at the University of Glasgow is Scotland’s oldest museum, with collections covering everything from Roman archeology and natural history to medicine and scientific instruments and The Hunterian Art Gallery focuses on fine art, with works by artists including Rembrandt, Rubens, Whistler, and Mackintosh, as well as the Mackintosh House.

The Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) is the place to go for modern and contemporary art, with both permanent and rotating exhibitions.

St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art, next to Glasgow Cathedral, explores religion and faith around the world and across history.

And below when we suggest you head to Pollok Country Park, you could also check out the nearby Burrell Collection, which hosts an eclectic collection spanning everything from European paintings and medieval art to ancient Egyptian and Roman objects.

Again, if museums aren’t your vibe, there are plenty of tours we’ve suggested in the last two days and always a plethora of street art, architecture, shopping, cafes, bakeries, live music, and so much more for you to explore. If you loved somewhere from the first two days, go back and enjoy it again!

This is also a great time to do absolutely nothing in particular. After two fairly full days, you might be surprised how nice it is to have nowhere you have to be.

Afternoon

For Day 03, unless you are neck deep in the museums we’ve suggested above and have no intention of leaving, we would highly suggest using this time to explore somewhere a little farther outside the main tourist route.

Pollok Country Park is a great option to get a break from the city streets. It’s one of the largest urban parks in all of Europe and gives you a completely different feel from central Glasgow, with woodland, walking paths, gardens, plenty of open space, and – best of all – highland cows!!

The park is also home to Pollok House and it’s stunning gardens, which is another great stop for history and nature lovers. Just double check if it’s open, as it goes through frequent and long periods of closure due to renovations!

Evening

For your final evening in Glasgow, make it a good one!

Glasgow’s food and drink scene is a huge part of the city’s personality, and having a full evening to enjoy is always a fun time. So try something off the menu that you haven’t had yet, maybe even something a wee bit daring (haggis, anyone?), and enjoy yourself.

If you haven’t experienced live music yet, tonight is another great opportunity to find a show and we would highly recommend it if you are so inclined! (Maybe bring some Loops or similar, because man does it get LOUD in these venues).

Otherwise, simply settle into a good Scottish pub and enjoy a few drinks before calling it a night.

And, I hope we don’t have to say it, but if you’re heading out of Glasgow the next morning, don’t feel like you need to stay out late just because it’s your final night. A relaxed dinner and an evening stroll can be the perfect ending to your trip!

Where to Stay in Glasgow

The good news is that Glasgow has plenty of great areas to stay, and you don’t necessarily need to stay right in the middle of the city to be convenient. The city has a great public transportation network, and most of the neighborhoods below are walkable to much of the above Glagow itineraries or at least a very short ride away.

For a first visit, we’d generally look at the City Centre or West End, but there are a few other areas worth considering depending on what kind of trip you’re planning.

City Centre — Best for Convenience & Short Trips

If this is your first time in Glasgow and you want to be close to the biggest sights, restaurants, shopping, and nightlife, the City Centre is probably your easiest choice.

You’ll be within walking distance of places on our itinerary like George Square, Glasgow Cathedral, The Lighthouse, and many of the city’s most popular restaurants and bars. Glasgow Central Station and Queen Street Station also make this area particularly convenient if you’re arriving by train or using Glasgow as a base for other parts of Scotland.

The downside? Some parts of the City Centre can feel a little more business-like and less residential than other neighborhoods, especially outside the busiest areas, and the nightlife here tends to last into the early morning and can be quite lively and loud!

West End — Best for Food, Atmosphere & a More Local Feel

The West End is our personal favorite pick if you want somewhere that feels a bit more relaxed and neighborhood-like while still being incredibly convenient and central!

This is where you’ll find the University of Glasgow (AKA the heart of West End), Kelvingrove Park, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, the Botanic Gardens, Byres Road, Ashton Lane, and plenty of independent cafés, restaurants, and pubs. It’s got great nightlife too, but not quite as long-into-the-night and loud as the City Centre.

It’s also a great area for simply wandering around without a specific destination, as it’s got this fun, artsy, and bohemian vibe when compared to the City Centre and other parts of Glasgow.

(Zoom out a bit on the map below (centered on Gilmorehill at the University) for a better view of all of West End and more stay options!)

Merchant City — Best for Restaurants & Nightlife

Merchant City is a great option if you want to be close to the action while staying in an area with plenty of historic character.

It’s packed with restaurants, bars, pubs, and cafés, and you’ll be within easy walking distance of many attractions. The area is another great spot to enjoy Glasgow’s nightlife!

Just keep in mind that this spot will also be lively and loud, particularly on weekends.

Southside — Best for a Quieter Stay

Glasgow’s Southside (AKA the greater region south of the River Clyde) is worth considering if you’d rather stay somewhere a little removed from the main tourist areas and therefore quieter when compared to the options above.

You’ll find more of a residential, local atmosphere here, along with cafés, restaurants, parks, and easy access to the beautiful Pollok Country Park. It’s best if you’re spending at least a few days in Glasgow and don’t mind using public transportation to get into the main parts of the city each day.

(Zoom out a bit on the map below (centered on Queens Park) for a better view of all of Southside and more stay options – especially ones a bit north and closer to the River Clyde and City Centre!)

Tips for Staying in Glasgow on a Budget

Glasgow can be more reasonable compared with some of Scotland’s more tourist-heavy destinations, but prices can still climb during major events, weekends, and the summer season.

If you’re visiting Glasgow for just 1–3 days, we’d tend to prioritize location over having the fanciest accommodation. There are plenty of great hostels in the heart of Glasgow if you’re open to that! You’ll probably spend most of your time out exploring anyway and being able to walk to most places or easily hop on public transportation for just a few minutes can be very valuable.

However if you’re looking to get a nicer and more private stay with a cheaper price tag, look beyond the immediate city center! Just keep an eye on the public transit times to make sure you don’t stray too far out.

As mentioned, for saving some cash while staying in the center, hostels will be the best option (and remember they typically offer both dorms and private rooms!), but private apartments might make sense for longer stays, particularly due to the access to a kitchen and ability to save money there. Check the maps above to compare all your options or check specifically for hostels in Glasgow here.

How to Get Around Glasgow

Getting around Glasgow is quite easy, and you definitely don’t need a car to explore the city.

In fact, we would suggest avoiding renting a car while here and if Glasgow is one stop on a larger Scotland road trip, we’d suggest leaving the car parked long-term outside of the city or scheduling your trip so that Glasgow is the first or the last stop, if possible, so that you can pick up or return the car on your way out or in to the city.

The city center is extremely walkable and the subway, buses, and trains make it easy to reach any neighborhoods and attractions that are farther away! Here are all your options, though:

Walking — Best for the Main City Areas

Walking is one of the best ways to explore central Glasgow, especially if you want to take in the architecture, street art, shops, and random little discoveries along the way.

Many of the major sights in the city and those listed within our suggested Glasgow itinerary are within a very reasonable walking distance of each other, including the City Centre sights like George Square, Glasgow Cathedral, the Necropolis, The Lighthouse, and Merchant City.

The West End is also very walkable once you’re there, particularly around the University, Kelvingrove Park, Byres Road, and the Botanic Gardens.

That said, be sure to take advantage of the readily available and cheap public transportation whenever you so desire. (Especially when the weather is not so nice!).

Public Transportation — Best for Getting Around the Whole City

Glasgow has a great public transportation network, and for most visitors spending 1–3 days here, a combination of walking and public transportation is all you’ll need.

The Subway is probably the easiest option for visitors to understand. It’s a small circular system connecting the City Centre with parts of the West End, making it particularly useful for getting between central Glasgow and areas around the University, Kelvingrove, and Byres Road (like on Day 02!).

Buses cover a much larger area and are useful for destinations that aren’t conveniently located near a Subway station. They’re also handy for quickly getting around the different neighborhoods without having to walk long distances.

Trains are most useful if you’re staying farther outside the city center or want to make a trip beyond Glasgow. You likely won’t need them for this itinerary, but they’re worth knowing about if you’re using Glasgow as a base for exploring nearby areas afterwards!

Google Maps or another navigation app can help you figure out the best combination of walking and public transportation for each stop.

Driving — Not Necessary for the City, Avoid if Possible

If you’re road-tripping around Scotland, you can absolutely drive into Glasgow, but we wouldn’t recommend using your rental car to get around the city itself.

Traffic, one-way streets, finding parking, and paying for parking (goodness gracious is it expensive) can turn a simple trip across town into much more hassle than it’s worth. If your accommodation includes free parking, leave the car there and explore on foot or by public transportation.

Or, if you’re doing a road-trip, just start or end with Glasgow and pick up or drop off your car rental before or after your city exploring.

Taxis & Ridesharing

Taxis and ridesharing are widely available in Glasgow, although availability and pricing will vary widely depending on the time and location. Both options will certainly cost quite a bit more than taking the subway or bus, but for a short trip with two or more people, some might say that the convenience is worth the extra cost (not us… but someone, I’m sure, haha).

We’d personally treat taxis and ridesharing as a backup or convenience option (particularly in the evening or with heavy luggae) rather than your main way of getting around.

For most daytime sightseeing, walking and public transportation will be much easier on your wallet and often just as convenient.

Top Tips for Visiting Glasgow

Glasgow is a pretty easy city to visit, but there are a few things we wish we’d known before exploring it. Keep these tips in mind and you’ll have a much smoother (and more enjoyable!) time.

Plan Around Museum & Attraction Hours

A lot of Glasgow’s museums and major attractions are free, which is fantastic for your budget, but make sure you check opening days and hours before and during your trip! Some museums are closed on certain days, and hours can vary throughout the year.

It’s much easier to rearrange your day before you arrive than to discover that our suggested Glasgow itinerary might need to be swapped around a bit last minute!

Bring Comfortable Shoes

You will probably walk more than you expect in Glasgow!

Even if you’re using the Subway and buses, you’ll still spend plenty of time wandering around each day. Comfortable shoes are especially important if you’re planning to stick to our fairly packed Glasgow itinerary!

And, as always in Scotland, waterproof shoes are always a good idea.

Don’t Forget a Rain Jacket

Speaking of waterproof items, Glasgow’s weather will be very Scottish!

What that means is that you can have a beautiful morning, a sudden rain shower, and then sunshine again before you’ve even finished your coffee. Pack layers and a waterproof (not just water repellent!) jacket, even if the forecast looks promising.

The good news is that Glasgow and our Glasgow itinerary have plenty of indoor things to do, so a little rain doesn’t have to ruin your day. You’re not made of sugar, after all! Just be willing to shuffle around our itinerary if the weather decides to have opinions – we purposely left things a bit flexible, just in case.

Book Popular Accommodation Ahead of Time

If you’re visiting during a busy period (like summer), book your accommodation well in advance, especially if you want to stay in a popular or central neighborhood such as the West End or City Centre.

Prices can increase for various reasons all throughout the year and things tend to get booked pretty quickly, so getting your reservation in as early as possible can give you more options and often better prices.

And remember: if you’ll have a car be sure to check your accommodation’s parking situation before booking!

When Is the Best Time to Visit Glasgow?

Glasgow is a year-round destination, so there isn’t really a bad time to visit. However, that said, spring and fall are our favorite times to visit! You will generally enjoy a good balance of milder weather, fewer crowds, and better accommodation prices at these times.

Summer brings the longest days and plenty of events, but it’s also the busiest time of year. Winter is quieter and can be a great time for museums, restaurants, and cozy pub evenings, although you’ll have less daylight and a high chance of cold, wet weather.

Here’s a peek at what you can expect throughout the year:

Spring (April–May) — Best for Fewer Crowds + Blooms

Spring is one of our favorite times to visit Glasgow. The days are getting longer, parks and gardens are coming back to life and are so stunning to view, and you can generally enjoy the city without all the massive summer crowds.

Temperatures are still unpredictable, though, so bring lots of layers and waterproof everything. You may get beautiful sunny days… or a very Scottish reminder that growing blooms need lots of rain!

Summer (June–August) — Best for Events & Long Days

Summer brings the longest daylight hours and generally the best chance of mild weather, making it a great time to explore Glasgow’s parks, neighborhoods, and outdoor spaces.

It’s also the busiest season, as Glasgow always has a packed calendar of festivals, concerts, and other events. That can be a huge bonus if you want to experience the city’s music and cultural scene during any downtime within our Glasgow itinerary, but it also means generally higher accommodation prices, fewer rooms available, and frequent shoulder to shoulder crowds, particularly when said major events are taking place.

Fall (September–October) — Best for Fewer Crowds + Autumnal Colors

Fall is another fantastic time to visit Glasgow and another favorite of ours, particularly if you prefer cooler temperatures and fewer tourists.

The city’s parks and surrounding countryside look absolutely beautiful as the leaves begin changing, and you’ll still have enough daylight and warmth to explore comfortably.

By October, the days begin to get noticeably shorter, though, so just keep that in mind for the outdoor activities on our itinerary.

Winter (November–March) — Best for Budget Travelers & Cozy Vibes

Winter is Glasgow’s quietest season, and while the weather can be cold, wet, and windy, it can actually be a fun time to visit if you embrace the indoor side of the city!

This is a great season for museums and galleries (though always check hours and opening times!), restaurants, pubs, shopping, and live music. Plus, accommodation prices will generally be lower than the other seasons.

You’ll have much shorter daylight hours, though, so you’ll just want to be sure to front-load all the outdoor sightseeing in our itinerary as early in the day as possible.

December, in particular, can be very atmospheric with holiday events and decorations, although prices may rise up again around Christmas and New Year’s, so keep that in mind when booking too.
